TOPIC: COMBATING ISLAMOPHOBIA
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) holds a distinguished position as the second-largest international organization globally, second only to the United Nations. With 57 member states that span across four continents, the OIC serves as the “collective voice of the Muslim world.” Its primary objective is to foster international peace and harmony by advocating for mutual understanding and cooperation among people worldwide. Recently, the OIC has launched initiatives to combat the rising tide of Islamophobia, recognizing the urgency of addressing this pressing issue. This pervasive prejudice manifests in various forms, from the discriminatory clothing restrictions that have surfaced in France to the unjust travel bans of the Trump Administration. With a special focus on Morocco, this committee will strive to mitigate the effects of Islamophobia worldwide. I look forward to the work that you will all produce and the solutions that will be proposed!
